Kathryn Bostic is an artist whose songs are an effortless blend of old school blues, jazz and rock influences with her own “new school” flavors of a unique and innovative voice. She has been playing the piano and writing her own music since she was three. “At home I grew up listening to everything. From Beethoven, to Bartok and then groove with a wide variety of music from artists like Milton Nascimento, Aretha Franklin, Muddy Waters, Joni Mitchell, Marvin Gaye, Eva Cassidy and Bob Marley.” Kathryn has toured and/or recorded with a variety of artists including k.d. lang, Ryuchi Sakamoto, Nas, and David Byrne.
Singing is only a part of what she offers musically. She’s an accomplished pianist and composer. Having scored a number of films and theater productions she is also the recipient of the prestigious Sundance Fellowship for Filmscoring.
